Nothing on a Truth

The first time I saw you Gendry,
You gave all your stuff away
To those, who knew
The truest meaning of hunger.
Now and then,
I think again,
Of you
From half a world away.
Are you still in the same place?
With all the acid casualties
and orange caped-vampire freaks?
Or did you move on?
Your raincoat was worn and old,
Did you ever come in from the cold
and break of it's stranglehold?
A bizarre chance encounter
On a Castro Street corner,
Led to 3/4 hours going by
Not so different,
You and I.
Seems all it took
was a lie,
One that shook your whole life
And left you there.
Broken lovelorn,
On the rocks,
While the Siren was with the Fox
How can blood remain
Thicker than water?
When your daughter's not
Your daughter.
I bet a sharpened serpent's tooth
Could have nothing on a truth,
Quite like that.
Your raincoat was worn and old,
Did you ever come in from the cold
and break of it's stranglehold?
